ถ่านไม้ไผ่ ภาษาญี่ปุ่นเรียก ทาเคะสึมิ ( takesumi ) หรือ คิคุตัน (kikutan ) ทำมาจากไม้ไผ่ เป็นถ่านทีใช้กรรมวิธีการผลิตด้วยอุณหภูมิมากกว่า 1,000 ºC  มีคุณสมบัติที่มีประโยชน์ต่อสุขภาพของมนุษย์และสภาพแวดล้อมมากมาย

ถ่านไม้ไผ่ ที่ผ่านกรรมวิธีการผลิตด้วยอุณหภูมิมากกว่า 1,000 ºC  แตกต่างไปจากถ่านทั่วไป  แม้แต่ถ่านขาว ( White Charcoal )  หรือบินโจตัน ( Binchotan ) 

ถ่านไม้ไผ่ สามารถให้กำเนิดและปลดปล่อยประจุลบ ( Negative Ions ) และ อินฟาเรดยาว ( Far infrared ray )  ช่วยฟอกอากาศ  ดูดกลิ่น ( Deodorizing ) ความชิ้น ( Moisture ) ขจัดและดูดซับสิ่งมีพิษ  ลดมลภาวะทั้งในอากาศและในน้ำ  มีแร่ธาตุที่เป็นประโยชน์ทั้งต้อมนุษย์  สัตว์  รวมทั้งธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม
